Tank Abandonment

Tank abandonment is conducted in specific cases where the removal of a tank is virtually impossible. The abandonment process Great Plains Environmental utilizes meets all local fire regulations and state and federal regulations.

Once the determination has been made that abandonment is the only option, the local authorities then must approve it. Great Plains Environmental then follows a specific protocol by which the product line is removed, the contents of the tank are removed and the tank is then completely filled with an inert cement slurry mixture. The vent pipe is removed and the access area is filled in with appropriate material and the original surface cover is replaced.

If you have any questions or comments on Tank Abandonment procedure and/or pricing, please contact our office for an estimate.
